OUR MISSION STATEMENT
EXCELLENT FINANCIAL SERVICES
MISSION
The mission of a credit union is to provide and promote the use of a variety of financial services which feature particular benefits and advantages over those generally available from other banking sources, with specific intent of helping members gain some particular measure of personal financial success.
POINT PLUS CREDIT UNION HISTORY
The By-laws for a new Credit Union were approved on July 27, 1954. The commissioner of Credit Unions approved a closed charter on August 4, 1954. The charter indicated that Soo Line Railroad employees and their families were eligible for membership. The designated name was Point Soo Credit Union.
Throughout the years nearly 40 area employers have been added to our list of affiliated companies. In 1996 the membership voted to change the name to Point Plus Credit Union to better reflect the variety of employee groups that had been added. In 2001 our charter was expanded to include anyone living or working in Portage or Wood counties as well.
Since then, our charter has expanded once again and we currently offer four locations in the Stevens Point Area and serve anyone living or working in Adams, Portage, Shawano, Marathon, Waupaca, Waushara, and Wood counties along with approximately 30 affiliated companies. |
